SPECTRA

SPECTRA is an EIC Pathfinder project investigating solar-driven technologies for converting difficult-to-recycle plastic waste into useful chemicals and chemical building blocks. The project brings together expertise in materials chemistry, catalysis and process engineering to explore more selective and resource-efficient routes for plastic valorisation.

The research will assess the feasibility of an integrated waste-to-value device at laboratory scale, including its performance with representative waste streams, product quality, energy requirements and environmental implications. SPECTRA aims to contribute to a more circular use of plastics and reduce reliance on disposal and virgin feedstocks.
